Our Story
Solar Wines is our journey into making small batch wines that tell the story of unique sites around Victoria.
We source the best grapes we can find, from small growers who work sustainably and maintain the natural energy of the fruit. We work with wild yeasts and let the character of the site and the fruit shine.
Most of our wines are intended to be drunk young and fresh, which we think best captures the energy and focus of the variety and most importantly, the site.
Who We Are
Jack grew up in Manchester, where wine was not part of the culture, however, Manchester is a city that knows good food, good drink and good times. Through working in cocktail bars and restaurants in the city we developed a passion and appreciation for quality, well made drinks with a story to tell.
After moving to Melbourne in 2016, this energy became focused on Victorian wine regions and the people who grow the grapes. Bitten hard, we took every opportunity to learn and get our hands dirty. Solar Wines is the natural, next step in our journey.
We will keep learning, keep trying new things and hope that others will find enjoyment and inspiration from our wines, in the way that we have been inspired by others.
